Peter Gane Bucket PG028 tenor trombone mute

A range of specialist fibre mutes especially designed to meet the needs of top brass players. All mutes are handmade by Gerry Birch to the highest quality and are finished in black with birch wood base. 

Unlike most bucket mutes which clip on to the bell rim and often damage the lacquer, this unique felt lined range of bucket mutes fit inside the bell just like any other conventional mute. They take only a fraction of the time to fit and are far less likely to cause any damage to the instrument.  There is nothing to compare to the rich smooth sound of the Peter Gane bucket. Wood base, massive felt pad, sturdy steel supports and fine hand craftsmanship are all great, but you will be really converted once you place it in your bell. No clips ! No tuning problems ! Only a dark smoky sound.
