Three sonates K113, K380 and K466 by Domenico Scarlatti for guitar.
Arranged for guitar by Gerard Abiton
Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757) wrote most of the some 555 sonatas for harpsichord, which contains the catalog of Ralph Kirkpatrick, at the court of Madrid. He moved there in 1733 to serve the Princess Maria Barbara, who later became Queen of Spain.
It was during his stay in the Iberian Peninsula, the Spanish popular music and guitar profoundly influence his work. The diversity of characters, melodic inventiveness, rhythmic and harmonic richness surprises surprise us and make these sonatas into little masterpieces.
This edition of the three sonatas of Domenico Scarlatti transcribed for guitar was developed with the idea of giving the interpreter a few essential elements, technical and musical necessary for their achievements. These tips are just like those that the publisher could provide during a course or master class.
Particular care has been taken in the notation fingerings and positions of the left hand. Suggestions for achieving the ornaments are given in footnotes.
These transcripts were made from the manuscript of Venice
