This volume is adressed to trombonists who have already had several years' experience of their instrument. Being entirely geared to flexibility and use of the tongue in conjunction with the ait column, these studies do not constitue a complete course in themselves, they should therefore be practised along-side one's customary technical and melodic studies.
After a few sounds have been played in sequence on the mouthpiece alone, these exercises in flexibility may be used to warm up the lips.
